From start to finish, there are four discreet stages with their own pricing: consultation, design, installation, and maintenance.
1. On-Site Consultation
$100 in Metro Detroit
Consultations are required to start the process, but they also can be a one-and-done. Our designer will meet with you in person, walk around your property with you, and discuss what’s there and what you envision. She will give you ideas and listen to yours. You may find that’s enough to inspire you to get projects going on your own. Or you may decide to go with us to the next step.
2. Custom Design
$500
We will be in touch during the design process to ensure it is what you want. Pinterest can be a useful shared tool to show you plants that fit your needs for your approval or rejection, but in any case we will send you options. Once the plants are approved, we can figure out how many of them your design needs and give you an estimate for the installation. The design will be rendered so that you can keep it to be installed at a later date by us, you, or anyone else.
3. Installation

The cost of the installation is based on the size and complexity of the design, how many plants are required, and any obstacles we encounter while digging. Workers are paid $25 each per hour for ordinary clearing and planting. Stumps or anything else we need to dig out is $35/hour. Any hardscaping, structures, and features will be sub-estimated.
4. Maintenance

Maintenance is purely optional and based on how much is required. We always aim for low-maintenance designs, but weeds do need to be managed in the first three years in the best cases. Plus, it may be that the landscape you particularly want is higher maintenance. We will always discuss maintenance requirements during the design process to give you options.
We can also do maintenance on native gardens we did not install. We are familiar with the native plants of Southeast Michigan, so we are uniquely qualified to maintain and improve any native garden.
